CXB: Spirit of sports in peace building

By BBC Media Action

This is a series of 3-5 minute sports-centred pieces developed during the FIFA World Cup 2022.  Using sports as the subject, peaceful coexistence and gender-based violence are addressed. The series can be played in any order.

  1. Our sports star: This episode profiles a Rohingya sports star who inspires his neighbours to play sports. His family and community are proud to have a star in their community.  (With subtitle)
  2. Harmony through sports (family and society): The moral of this episode: sports can bring harmony within the family, neighbourhood, and society.
  3. What I learnt from sports: This episode showcases different outdoor sports in the Rohingya community, which can be played regardless of gender and age.  (With subtitle)
  4. Be the whistle blower: This episode inspires people to take a positive role in stopping discrimination and violence in different contexts using sports tools, like blowing a whistle and showing yellow or red cards like a referee.
